Our mission is to help the small-scale DAB industry achieve sustainability by assisting radio stations and multiplex operators to achieve their ambitions.
We are an industry wide lobby group representing the UK’s small-scale DAB industry through the strength of a collective industry member voice. Our membership is made up of small-scale DAB radio stations and multiplex operators and its these members UKSSDAB represents in order to help shape the environment and decision making that impacts their day-to-day operations.
Any operator within the UK small-scale DAB environment, whether that be multiplex operators, commercial radio stations (DSP) or community radio stations (C-DSP).
The biggest benefit of becoming a member of UKSSDAB is being part of the collective voice of the industry’s lobby group. Members contribute directly to UKSSDAB policy and decision making so have their voices heard when UKSSDAB makes representation to the likes of Ofcom, PRS, PPL, etc.
The UKSSDAB website will act as a central resource for
information on SSDAB in the UK, listing and promoting members to anyone that
accesses the site.
There are additional benefits that comes with UKSSDAB
membership, such as member discounts from a wide range of industry vendors,
knowledge share, etc.
One example for radio stations is, FREE output monitoring
and accurate music reporting data.
UKSSDAB will also grow over time and look
towards holding industry events, but first we feel its vital at such an
embryonic stage of UK’s small-scale DAB infrastructure we focus on shaping how
the industry will look going forward.
UKSSDAB benefits from having expertise and knowledge guiding it from early adopters and industry leaders. Owners of already established muxes, commercial and community SSDAB stations all bring critical view and insight to UKSSDAB and its members. The in itial steering group is currently being built, but already includes the likes of, industry expert Brian Lister, the UK’s first permanent SSDAB mux operator Dave Roberts and several station trailblazers.
